Description
ECT will be producing The Drowsy Chaperone directed by ECT and York Alum, Helen Knudsen, this Fall!
Show Synopsis
This musical comedy parodies nostalgic 1920s American musicals and all their glorious gags and gimmicks. A lonely man shares with the audience his favorite record - the 1928 musical The Drowsy Chaperone. As he plays the record, the show comes to life in his apartment. With two lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, and a boozy chaperone, this wedding day musical is so ridiculous that even our host for the evening, Man in Chair, has trouble justifying why he loves the show!
